Mike Kiesel wins 2010 District 31 John Coffey Award

ENLL's own Mike Kiesel has won the 2010 District 31 John Coffey award.  The award was announced and presented to Mike before the District 31 All Star Championship Game on July 13th. The John Coffey award is presented every year to one youth and one adult umpire within the district that exemplifies what volunteer umpiring is all about.  Mike has been an umpire in our league for many years and has also served as our umpire in chief as well as coaching a AAA team this year and managing our 9/10 All Star team.  We are all proud of how Mike represents our league and also proud that the District 31 leadership recognizes Mike's unique abilities and dedication to Little League baseball.  Mike will be getting a full set of umpiring gear and will get a full tuition to an umpiring school.

10/11 Year Old Team

The 10/11 year old team lost to Poway American in the District 31 Championship Game 14-4.  The boys had a great tournament.  The game was close for 4 inning led by timely hitting by ENLL.  Brandon Bay started the ENLL scoring by hammering a 2 run home run in the 2nd inning.  Dylan Hadley also hit a home run in the game.  Nick Scheidler continued to stroke the ball mith another multi-hit game.  In the end the Poway bats were too much to overcome as they pulled away in the 5th inning.
